● When the thermal response time of the armored thermocouple changes stepwise, the time required for the output value of the thermocouple to change to a specified percentage of the step change is called the thermal response time, which is expressed by τ (taken 50% is represented by τ0.5).

● Insulation resistance
When the ambient air temperature is 20 ± 15 ° C and the relative humidity is not more than 80%, the insulation resistance value between the thermal electrode of the insulated armored thermocouple and the outer tube should comply with the following table:

Note: The insulation resistance is expressed by MΩ · m, which is the product of the insulation resistance at room temperature and the length of the armored couple.
For example: 1000MΩ · m means: the insulation resistance of a 1m sample is
1000MΩ, the insulation resistance of the 10m sample is 100MΩ.
For armored couples with a length less than 1m, it is calculated as 1m.
Socket-type junction boxes and armored thermocouples with compensation leads are not included in this example.


□ Basic Structure of Armored Thermocouple
Armored thermocouples are mainly composed of junction boxes, terminal blocks, and armored thermocouple elements, and are equipped with various mounting fixtures.


● Mounting type:
The fixture is intended for user installation. There are five types of armored thermocouples: no fixed device, fixed ferrule type, movable ferrule type, fixed flange type, and movable flange type. The fixed card type is only for one-time fixed use, and the movable card type can be used for multiple fixed uses.

● Armored thermocouple reference terminal type
The junction box is used to connect the reference terminal of the thermocouple and the display instrument. There are a variety of structural types, such as simple type, splash-proof type, waterproof type, flameproof type, small junction box type, plug-in type, and compensation lead type.

□ Different combinations and ordering instructions of armored thermocouples
The following shows the naming methods of different combinations of different mounting and fixing types and different reference ends. Refer to these combinations as well as the previous "Model Meaning" and "Armored Thermocouple Examples" to easily name the thermocouple you need.
The figure below also indicates the thermocouple length L and sleeve diameter d that should be noted when ordering. When ordering and naming, the use of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel casing, single type, class II thermocouple need not be specified separately.
