The basic principle of thermocouple temperature measurement is that two different materials of material conductors form a closed loop. Homogeneous conductors of two different components are hot electrodes, the higher temperature end is the working end, the lower temperature end is the free end, and the free end is usually at a constant temperature.
After using a thermocouple for a period of time, it will definitely wear out and may even be damaged. Generally, the quality of a thermocouple is related to the thermocouple wire (wire) in it, but how to judge the quality of the thermocouple wire? This is the problem. A brief discussion.
First make sure that there is no problem with the appearance of the thermocouple wire, whether it is good or bad, can only be determined by testing.
Put the thermocouple wire to be tested on a thermowell-specific porcelain sleeve, put it into a tubular electric furnace together with a standard platinum rhodium thermocouple, and insert the hot end into a porous metal nickel for soaking in the tubular electric furnace. In the cylinder. Place the cold ends of the respective compensating wires in a zero-degree Celsius container held by the ice-water mixture.
The tubular electric furnace is maintained at the allowable maximum temperature of the thermocouple, and this range is stably maintained. At this time, the difference between the thermoelectric potential generated by the standard thermocouple and the thermocouple to be tested is recorded with a Wheatstone potentiometer that has passed the test and recorded. According to the recorded thermoelectric potential difference, check the index table to find out the corresponding temperature. If the thermocouple to be measured is out of tolerance, it can be judged as unqualified.
